About Annie
Meet the Author
"Hi, I’m Annie Agarwal — Author, Storyteller, and Dreamer"
I write stories that celebrate childhood wonder, family, and belonging. My debut book, The Magic of Diwali with Saara, was inspired by my daughter’s curiosity and joy — and became a way to share our cultural traditions with children everywhere.
Through my books, I hope to nurture pride, empathy, and the magic of being seen for who we are.

Inspiration Behind the Stories
Where Stories Begin...
The idea for The Magic of Diwali with Saara started with a bedtime question — “Mama, why do we light diyas?”
That moment opened the door to stories filled with meaning, memory, and joy. I wanted children, especially those growing up between cultures, to see themselves in books — surrounded by love, laughter, and the glow of home traditions.
Every book I create is an invitation to celebrate who we are and where we come from.

My Journey
From Policy Work to Picture Books...
Before becoming a children’s author, I spent over a decade working in international development and strategy consulting — partnering with global organizations to promote equality, education, and empowerment.
Storytelling was always part of my path — first through data and human stories, and now through picture books that nurture empathy and imagination.

Mission and Message
Stories as Bridges...
My mission is simple — to create stories that connect hearts across cultures.
Through vibrant characters and simple, soulful storytelling, I want every child to see their family, traditions, and dreams reflected in the pages they read.
Books are more than stories — they’re mirrors and windows into the world we share.

A Note from Annie
From My Heart to Yours
“Every story I write begins as a moment shared — a question from my child, a ritual from my childhood, or a spark of wonder that reminds us how connected we all are.
Through my books, I hope children not only learn about festivals or traditions, but feel seen, celebrated, and loved just as they are.”
